Yes, decaffeinated coffee was apparently appreciated in the 1920's, too. From the ad:

Do you Want to be a Movie Actress? - D.W. Griffith

"Are you the talented member of your family? And have you a longing in your heart to be a moving picture star?"

So begins this little article, in which D.W. Griffith himself is interviewed by Djuna Barnes, from the February 1925 issue of McCall's magazine. The Gish sisters, Nazimova, Sarah Bernhardt, and Mae Marsh are all mentioned briefly by him and it's an interesting read, though I doubt it would have done anything to help a young girl embark on a career as a moving picture star.

The Shocking New Moral Code of Modern Youth

This article was in the March 1925 issue of Physical Culture magazine. According to the author,

"I have already dwelt at length on the extremes of unwise conduct to which our young people go, with their joy rides, their ways of dancing, their petting parties, their freedom in sex relations, and the like. I might have gone with some detail also into the domain of actual crime, such as automobile stealing, banditry, burglary, and assault committed by mere boys."

Society was changing in the 1920's, and this article is just one example of many in which the behavior of the youth of the day was often lamented.
